Concrete Flatwork
Overview

Simple Work, Done Carefully.

Most concrete complaints are not about the concrete. They are about a slab that holds water in one corner, joints cut too late so it cracked anyway, or a broom finish that came out streaky because it was worked at the wrong moment.

We pour flatwork with the boring parts handled: forms set to a real grade, the right mix, joints cut at the correct depth and on time, and a finish applied when the slab is ready.

Our Process

How We Build It.

Same sequence every time. It is the reason the work is still flat years later.

01

Grade & Form

Subgrade cut and compacted, forms set to the elevations that make water leave instead of sit.

02

Reinforce

Mesh or rebar placed and supported at the right height in the slab — not thrown on the dirt.

03

Place & Finish

Concrete poured, screeded, floated, then finished to the texture you chose: broom, smooth or textured.

04

Joint & Cure

Control joints cut on schedule, slab cured properly, and the whole site swept and hauled clean.

Why It Matters

What You Actually Get.

  • Slip-Resistant Broom Finish The standard for walkways and pool surrounds — adds texture and traction without looking rough.
  • Cracks Where You Cannot See Concrete cracks. Properly placed control joints decide that it happens along a clean line instead of across the middle.
  • Repairs Too We also patch, resurface and replace failing sections rather than pushing a full tear-out you do not need.

Frequently Asked

Questions About This Work.

All concrete develops hairline shrinkage cracking as it cures. The job of a good installer is controlling where. We cut control joints at the correct spacing and depth so movement follows them.
After the concrete is floated smooth, a broom is dragged across the surface to leave a fine texture. It is the most common exterior finish because it adds slip resistance and hides minor imperfections.
New concrete will never match aged concrete exactly — the old surface has years of weathering. We can get close, and often the better answer is a stain or overlay across both so everything reads as one surface.
